Composting service

We can now compost your food waste for you if you are using the Pickled Compost bokashi system! 

How it works:

Step 1. Get a Pickled Compost Starter pack

Step 2. Start using your bucket, putting your food waste in it once a day and adding a sprinkle of flakes. 

Step 3. Stop adding to your bokashi bucket on Wednesday. Put the lid on and leave it. Start filling up your second bucket. 

Step 4. On Thursday or Friday we will collect your named sealed bucket while delivering your weekly Farm Box. 

Step 5. We let your food waste keep pickling until the following Wednesday, when we then put the pickled food into our compost system. We rinse your buckets, inoculate them and add wood chips to the bottom (to absorb any liquid).

Step 6: We then return your bucket to you with your Farm Box delivery and collect you new bucket of pickled food & repeat the system. 

We charge $5 for this service as this covers our time composting and preparing your buckets for return.
