Here at Four Corners Organics we are proud to be providing Little Farms with fresh organic produce throughout the year.
We have been growing delicious produce in our greenhouses in Masterton since 2008. Initially we were certified with OFNZ, this changed to Biogro in 2010.
In growing our vegetables, we take care to minimise our impact on the planet.
All our inputs are Biogro certified, and our operation runs completely on rainwater. No depletion of the aquafer needed.
All our watering is done with micro irrigation, this allow us to be very efficient in our water use.
We guard our soil fertility by growing green crops in between different growing cycles as much as we can and using natural Biogro Certified fertilisers when needed.
We also as much of our electricity as we are able to through our solar panels. Our current system generates 8Kh/hr on a sunny day.
As our greenhouses are unheated our offering varies with the seasons.
In winter we mainly focus on the brassicas like Chinese Cabbage, Broccoli and Celery.
In summer, our main crops are tomatoes, courgettes and cucumbers.
We really appreciate working with Alex and her team as this gets nice fresh produce to locals through the vegetable boxes.
We are looking forward to many more seasons of cooperation and feeding as many people as we can with healthy produce.
