Pasture Pride Eggs

Terry and Jacqui from Pasture Pride Eggs are true free range regenerative egg farmers - no barns in sight here! Their small flock of chickens are rotated weekly through the lush green fields of their 75acre block in Gladstone, and they have 3 (soon to be 4) custom built houses for night time, complete with multiple perches and laying boxes and attached sand baths for the chickens to enjoy.

The chickens at Pasture Pride drink rainwater collected from the roofs of their houses and Terry makes his own supplement feed with a mixture of barley, wheat, maize, molasses, kelp powder, and the whey and curds from his home made cheese. The chickens also get the amazing pasture to roam freely on and a lot of love (and cuddles!), which shows in their lovely natures and beautiful plumage.

Terry checks on the chickens and collects eggs 3-4 times a day, often accompanied by his 8 rescue dogs (mostly old retired working dogs). Eggs are then carefully checked for quality before being boxed for sale. Pasture Pride eggs are never more than 3 days old when sold - you can’t get much fresher - and that is evident in the gorgeous colour of their yolks and firm whites which hold shape perfectly.

After two years of laying, the chickens are moved to the “Retirement Village” located in Terry and Jacqui’s orchard, where they live out the rest of their lives free and happy, whilst also doing the important job of helping with pest control for the fruit trees. The absolute best care and love that Terry and Jacqui show their chickens is wonderful to behold and you can most definitely taste the difference eating amazing locally produced Pasture Pride Eggs!
