The Whānau box is your vegetable shop done for you!

This is our large size box, we estimate it will feed 2 vegetable loving adults or a small family for approximately a week. Contains 10-11 different types of produce.

These boxes are a Little Farms collaboration. We have teamed up with other organic and regenerative farms in the Wairarapa, in order to provide you with a box filled with variety all year round.

The staples in this box are:

Lettuce - The type of lettuce leaf changes with the seasons, but what doesn't change is how crunchy and fresh the salad is.

Kale/Silverbeet/Spinach bunch - Your weekly greens all bundled up together ready for sandwiches, juicing, lasagna and everything else! The mix varies seasonally, in Summer we have more silverbeet and in Winter more spinach.

Seasonal goodies: The rest of the box is a mix of seasonal vegetables and even fruits. In Summer, you can expect vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber and zucchini and in Winter, vegetables such as cabbage, carrots and onions.

The pictures are an indication of what you can expect at different times of the year. The first picture is the Whānau box in Summer, the second picture is the Whānau box in Spring and the third picture is the Whānau box in Winter.

As our boxes are seasonal and local, we offer what is in season in the Wairarapa. This means we won't have your staple vegetables such as potatoes, carrots and tomatoes in the boxes every week, instead they will be in our boxes only when they are growing in the Wairarapa. We find this seasonality really beautiful as it makes you appreciate when things are in season and connects you to the seasonal flow of nature.

If you subscribe to this box there is a minimum of 3 weeks before you can pause, cancel or alter your subscription.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

If there is a particular vegetable you can not eat, please leave a note at checkout when you order and we will try our best to keep it out of your box.

Please consider subscribing to our boxes.

For a farm to be truly sustainable it needs to be resilient, so that it can keep operating into the future. We find that with the change of seasons orders yo-yo up and down, making it hard for us to cover costs in the low times and meet demand in the ups. Therefore, it is really helpful for us, if you subscribe to our Farm Boxes. This helps us plan how much to grow and gives us some financial stability so that we can invest in our farm long term with the security that we will be able to sell the food we grow.

I am sharing the Whanau box with my partner and we usually go through all the veggies within a week.
It's always a surprise to see what's inside the box - we customise our meal plan around it and it gets our creative juices flowing in the kitchen.
The veggies are fresh as can be, way tastier than anything you'd find in the supermarket, and very affordable, too.
And being able to customise our box or tweak our subscription is a breeze.
The Little Farms team is easy to reach. They're always there to help out if we need anything.
Overall, our veggie box has made cooking way more exciting. And it just feels good to eat organic, locally, and seasonally grown produce.

So handy

We’ve only ordered the whanau box once when we had extended whanau over and we loved the variety and quality. Such beautiful produce. Thankyou so much!

Lovely fresh box, lots of herbs

Lovely fresh box of veges delivered to our door. I appreciate the little touches like the lettuce being washed sometimes or the odd bit of fruit. I do find there to be a lot of herbs, personal preference I guess. My only other feedback would be that for a family size box ideally they’d be a family-sized serving of each vegetable rather than single items but possibly that’s just due to availability of items. Thanks Little Farms for your hard work

Masterton District Library

Recently we held a Sustainability event at the library and a staff member from Little Farms showed those present how to make a No Dig Garden. After the event we presented the whānau box to our prize drawer winner, who was absolutely thrilled to receive this gift box packed with beautiful fresh vegetables. Thank you Little Farms.
